Welcome to the Reading Advice Network
Reading Advice Network (RAN) is an umbrella organisation that brings together and supports organisations providing the public with Information and Advice, in Reading (Berkshire, UK) and surrounding area.
We promote excellence through ensuring our Members achieve quality standards and share their good practice. We signpost those who may need information and advice to our Members. We encourage sharing help for those people seeking assistance.
By working with our Members as well as other organisations providing information and advice, we ensure that the people of Reading can access a high standard of delivery from a broad range of organisations. We help to increase contact between voluntary and statutory organisations, as well as influence policy-making for the people and communities of Reading.
Our website has three aims:
- To direct those who need Information and Advice to our Member Organisations
- To showcase Our Work, our Advice Forums and the importance of Quality Standards
- To tell your advice-providing organisation all about the benefits of RAN Membership
Information and Advice in Reading
RAN believes that being able to access the right quality and type of Information and Advice is essential.
We support that by:
- helping those people and organisations providing Information and Advice to understand their role and work just as hard on maintaining high Quality Standards as they do providing the public with their services
- helping clients of RAN Member organisations, if they want to be referred between our Members, to receive a comprehensive and well-balanced service
RAN's role is to facilitate that for all our Member organisations and to help improve Information and Advice across the Reading area.
RAN's role
RAN supports our Member Organisations both during their Quality Standard assessment process and in helping the people and communities of Reading find their services.
We do not give advice ourselves and cannot take responsibility for any errors in the advice given by our Members.
