RAN's Tenth Advice Forum
"The last six months"
(Effectively March to October 2020)
The Tenth RAN Advice Forum was our first online Zoom video meeting, aimed at giving participants a chance to share their experiences of delivering services, supporting service users, staff and volunteers, since the national lockdown that started in March 2020.
The intention of the Forum was to give attendees a broad opportunity to discuss the challenges they'd faced, including:
- How services had changed
- What management challenges their organisation had, and was facing
- The responses from staffa nd from volunteers
- The effect of the pandemic itself, and the effect of their changed services, on clients/service users
- How well (or not) the new technology they had had to use was working
- The effect of the pandemic and lockdown on funding
Two RAN member organisations gave presentations on those points, followed by discussion by all participants on what a 'new normal' might be once the pandemic was over. A summary report of the Forum and discussion is available to download here.
